Mike Kelly
U.S. Congress

Mike Kelly grew up in Butler County, played football in high school and worked in the family business, Kelly Chevrolet-Cadillac.  Mike's parents instilled into Mike the importance of hard work and faith.  Mike Kelly earned an academic and football scholarship to Notre Dame.  After graduation, Mike Kelly returned home to work in the family business and helped it grow.  In 1995, Mike purchased the business and currently provides over 100 family-sustaining jobs.  Mike is a respected leader in both the local and national automotive industries.

Prior to being elected to Congress in 2010, Mike served on Butler City Council, the Butler Area School Board and the boards of other local civic organizations including the Housing Authority of Butler County, the Redevelopment Authority of Butler County, Catholic Charities and the Moraine Trails Council of the Boy Scouts of America.

Mike Kelly ran for and won a seat in the United States House of Representatives and has worked diligently to represent the people of his Congressional District. He has been extremely active and serves on the prestigious Ways and Means Committee, the subcommittees of Select Revenue Measures, Social Security and Oversight.  These subcommittees give Mike a voice in all matters related to Social Security, Medicare and the IRS.  Additionally Mike serves as the co-chair of the Northeast-Midwest Congressional Coalition, a bipartisan group of members of Congress from the eighteen northeastern and midwestern states.  The Coalition works together on issues related to the economic well-being and environmental health of the region.

Mike believes in fiscal responsibility and smaller government.  As a small business owner, he knows first-hand that businesses create jobs--not the government.  Thanks to his seat on the U.S. House Ways & Means Committee, Mike is in a position to promote pro-growth tax reform that would simplify the tax code and lower tax rates which would leave more money in the pockets of American families and workers.

Mike Kelly and his wife, Vicki, have four children and are the proud grandparents to ten grandchildren.
