Anne Covey
Retention Vote for Commonwealth Court Judge

Anne Covey has been a practicing attorney for over 26 years representing international and national companies, small firms and non-profit organizaitons on Employment and Labor Law matters.  Her practice includes representation before federal and state courts as well as administrative agencies on the federal and state levels.
 
Anne began her legal career as assistant counsel with the Pennsylvania Labor Relations Board (PLRB).  Thereafter, she was a law clerk with the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania serving the President Judge.  As a law clerk, she gained in-depth knowledge of the inner workings of the Commonwealth Court.  Upon completing her clerkship, she practiced with national law firms until founding her own law firm 14 years ago which concentrates on Employment and Labor Law matters.
 
In 2002, Anne Covey was appointed by Governor Schweiker and unanimously confirmed by the Senate as the first woman Member on the PLRB since its inception in 1937.  Her reappointment by Governor Rendell was unanimously approved by the Pennsylvania Senate in 2005.  The PLRB was founded in 1937 and serves the citizens of the Keystone State by administering and enforcing the Commonwealth's laws pertaining to labor-management relations.
 
Over the years, Anne has been a prolific writer and speaker with national organizations such as the Society for Human Resource Management with over 250,000 members in over 140 countries as well as the American Compensation Association.  Anne is the author of The Workplace Law Advisor: From Harassment and Discrimination Policies to Hiring and Firing Guidelines - What Every Manager and Employee Needs to Know.   She also published an article in the best seller Business:  The Ultimate Resource now in its third printing.
 
Most recently, she was chosen to write an article on the Commonwealth Court.  The article entitled Contributions of the Commonwealth Court to Public Employee Labor Law:  The First Forty Years.  She was chosen to be a presenter at the symposium honoring the Commonwealth Court held at Widener University School of Law.
 
Anne Covey's wealth of experience gained over the years having served as an assistant counsel to the PLRB, Commonwealth Court law clerk, practicing attorney and Pennsylvania Labor Relations Board Member make her uniquely qualified to serve on the Commonwealth Court.  She will be a jurist who draws upon the United States and the Pennsylvania Constitutions as the cornerstone for her legal decisions.  To all those who appear before her, she pledges impartiality and equal justice for all.
 
Judge Covey is currently running for retention fo the Commonwealth Court.
